Classroom Programs

Serving all of Marion and Polk Counties, WHS brings age appropriate humane education lessons directly to classrooms. We provide materials that enable teachers to incorporate humane messages into all of their lesson plans. Specific instruction in the humane treatment of animals helps schools meet “Instructions in Ethics and Morality” under ORS Statute 336.067.

Teachers may elect to schedule individual classroom presentations or become part of our year-long Pet Club, which takes humane education to the next level. A classroom that becomes a Pet Club member receives four grade appropriate lessons spaced throughout the school year. Each 45-minute presentation has a new focus and encourages students to become more involved, while reinforcing previous lessons.

Individual classroom presentation: $25
Pet Club membership: $75 (four presentations scheduled throughout the year)
Kind Kids School: $250 (A single school can receive up to six Pet Club memberships for one year)
We encourage school officials and teachers to consult their business partners or PTAs to help sponsor these activities for your school.
